About this Blog

This Blog is a collection of excerpts from talks given by Sri Swami Vishwananda. Please note that this Blog does not focus on dates, background and the exact original way of how Swamiji delivered the speech. We edit the talks slightly, presenting them in a kind of “poetic” format. This means we choose certain paragraphs from a talk which reflect a particular theme.
Read them as pieces of Divine Wisdom, meditate upon the words and just feel how Swamiji is addressing you with His words.

Offering everything to the Divine

In every action, that you do, you always expect something.
For every thing that we do, we expect something. Even if we say we don’t expect, but yet we expect a little gratitude. We expect the others even to say “Thank you”. But when our mind is free from that, it doesn’t matter. So you will surrender to all the actions that you do.
How can you practice this everyday? Before going to bed is a very good time to do that. In movies, but actually never in reality, i have seen children kneeling down in front of their bed, before going to sleep. This is a very good practice, because before you go to bed, you are in a certain energy. So whatever you ask from the Divine will be heard. It's because at that moment you are innocent and relaxed. You are ready to go to bed- So of course you are fully relaxed. That's why at that moment you should offer anything that you have done during the day to the Divine and say “I give this upon to you, because at the end it’s only you who did it. If you would have not given me the energy to do it, I would not be able to do it. With my own will, with my own power, with my own ego, I don’t think I would have been able to do that." As it is said: Not even a single leaf moves, until Ram wants it, until God wants it.
So when we surrender the little things and even what we have done with our pride, He accepts it.
