During a Satsang someone asked following question: Swamiji, please tell me what is the strongest weapon to get rid of bad habits? Sri Swami Vishwananda's answer was: The greatest weapon is not to see it as a bad habit. Then you can get rid of it. Because as long as you see it as an adversary, you will always have the tendency to fight against it. The more you fight, the more difficult it is. But the more you see it differently and as a friend you will easily let it go. And it will not fight back. This is the first thing. The second thing that you can do is to surrender it. Offer it to the Divine. Thirdly, you can go deep inside of it and then analyze it face to face. Like that you can transcend it. And forthly you can also just ignore it. Don’t give it any power. Don’t go into it. Of course it will come again and again, but try not to go into it.
