About this Blog

This Blog is a collection of excerpts from talks given by Sri Swami Vishwananda. Please note that this Blog does not focus on dates, background and the exact original way of how Swamiji delivered the speech. We edit the talks slightly, presenting them in a kind of “poetic” format. This means we choose certain paragraphs from a talk which reflect a particular theme.
Read them as pieces of Divine Wisdom, meditate upon the words and just feel how Swamiji is addressing you with His words.

Why do we sing?

Surdas singing to Sri Krishna
Sri Swami Vishwananda: Why do we sing?
Why do you think that people, when they sing, are in such a great joy?
They forget about everything.
Why is it?
It’s because when we sing the power of mind is less in action.
We are deeper into this Divine energy, because all the vibrations are cosmic energy.

If you would like to have all talks by Sri Swami Vishwananda in a compiled form, it might be a good idea to order his book Just Love

Surdas was a blind Indian Saint, who is known for his devotional songs dedicated to Krishna.
