About this Blog

This Blog is a collection of excerpts from talks given by Sri Swami Vishwananda. Please note that this Blog does not focus on dates, background and the exact original way of how Swamiji delivered the speech. We edit the talks slightly, presenting them in a kind of “poetic” format. This means we choose certain paragraphs from a talk which reflect a particular theme.
Read them as pieces of Divine Wisdom, meditate upon the words and just feel how Swamiji is addressing you with His words.

The sparrow or how to let go of the mind.

Once there was a sparrow. He caught a fish and then with this fish in his mouth, he said “Okay I will go home, I will eat it very nicely.” As he was on the branch, a group of crows started to chase him, so as he flew one place behind him, all of them would be behind him. He flew left and right, but the group of crows would not let go of him. Finally he just opened the mouth and the fish fell down. So all the crows run towards that fish. Then he said “Uff, just because of that fish they were after me.”

If we let go of our mind, all the other things will let go of us also, they will fly away.
Sadhana helps you to let go of the fish of the mind.
So after you finished your sadhana, don’t just start running around or get back into what you have to do in the world. It’s true and it is important, that you have to do things everyday, but after you finish your prayer, try to assimilate the energy that you got inside of you and try to always center it to this source here.
