Dancing and singing for God
Sri Swami Vishwananda: Jai Gurudev. It is lovely to be here with all of you. I know that it might difficult for you to sing the bhajans, but I hope that when they will sing some Polish songs, you will all sing very loudly and expressively! I know you are all lovely people and you all have so much love inside of you. When you love people, you always express yourselves, no? So, as you are all lovely people with so much love inside of you, you should also express this love. God’s love is not to be kept quietly or hidden inside the heart; it has to reflect through you. It has to reflect through you face, it has to reflect through yourself and one of the easiest ways is to sing and to dance.
Nowadays people like to go to disco. I don’t say, it's bad; it's good. It’s a place to express oneself. But often there is not a positive energy there. When you dance, you don’t dance always in the right way. And of course when you return from a disco, you are always tired and the first thing that you will do is to go and sleep. Whereas, when you dance for God, when you chant the name of Hari all the time, you are dancing in His glory - of course, you do get tired because you have a physical body - but what happens? It is so intoxicative that you will always have the desire to dance in His name. And the more you dance, the more you will have energy.
Here a video about Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who was dancing in ecstasy for Lord Krishna:
