About this Blog

This Blog is a collection of excerpts from talks given by Sri Swami Vishwananda. Please note that this Blog does not focus on dates, background and the exact original way of how Swamiji delivered the speech. We edit the talks slightly, presenting them in a kind of “poetic” format. This means we choose certain paragraphs from a talk which reflect a particular theme.
Read them as pieces of Divine Wisdom, meditate upon the words and just feel how Swamiji is addressing you with His words.

As long as there is want there will be misery

Sri Swami Vishwananda: When you feel deep inside of you that you are unsatisfied, your heart’s desire has not been fulfilled.
You keep desiring.
The desires keep coming, the wants keep coming, pain keeps coming, suffering keeps coming, misery keeps coming.
As long as there is want, which is natural, as long as there is want of the limitation of things,of course there will be misery.
Who wants misery?
Does somebody really want misery in this world?
Nobody wants misery, even somebody who is committing suicide.
Why is this person committing suicide?
Somebody is committing suicide to run away from misery.
Someone is praying to God, and praying from morning to evening,
meditating.
Why do you think this person is doing that?
To go out from the misery that is in this world.
