The human body and it's five elements

The following is an excerpt of Sri Swami Vishwananda's Pre-Darshan Speech from the 5th February 2010.

Sri Swami Vishwananda: Let’s analyze how the human body is.
The Shastras [scriptures] say that the human body is made of the five elements, the Pancha Tattva.
And if you look at these five elements they are constantly in war with each other.
They can’t be in peace with each other.
Can water be at peace with fire?
No, it can’t be!
That’s why in the human body there is so much imbalance.
Even if you see somebody is perfect on the outside, there is no such thing as perfection like that. There is always something going on in the body.
Imagine if all the five elements would start fighting with each other, what would happen?
Terrible, catastrophic.
And this is within yourself, not outside!
That is what is happening in people nowadays.

Offering Bilva leaves to Lord Shiva

Jai Gurudev! Today at 4.30 in the morning we started the day with a special Puja to Lord Shiva. We also performed Abishek together with Sri Swami Vishwananda and then each Devotee could pour water over the Lingam and offer sacred Bilva Leaves to it. Sri Swami Vishwananda said that when we remember Goddess Lakshmi offering the leaf, we will get Her blessing as well. Also we could think of a wish and when one does 4 Abisheks to the Shiva Lingam on Shivaratri, the wish shall be fulfilled. onight we continue at 6 pm with Bhajans and the other Abishekams... Jai Bhagavn Shiva Namah! Also Swamiji instructed us to talk less today, but rather to think of the Lord and chant the Holy name or "Om Namah Shivaya". Happy Mahashivratri to all of you!
Here is an excerpt of his Shivaratri Speech from last year, where Sri Swami Vishwananda explains the meaning of the Bilva leaves..

Sri Swami Vishwananda: There is a leaf called the Bilva leaf. Do you know about these leaves?

Someone: No

Sri Swami Vishwananda: It’s a Shiva leaf, actually. Can you show me one?

(Someone gives Swami Vishwananda a bowl full of leaves and He is looking at them)

Sri Swami Vishwananda:I try to find better ones to show you. Yeah. (Taking one leaf) You see this leaf here. What does this leaves standing for?

Someone: Trinity

Sri Swami Vishwanada: Yeah, the Trinity as being one.
The same thing Saint Patrick explained in Ireland, with the…
How do you call it?

Someone: Clover…

Sri Swami Vishwananda: Yeah, you know the Saint Patrick leaves? (Some say yes)
But this also stands for the same thing.
This two symbolise the two eyes of the outside and the upper one is the eyes of the…

Someone: Inside.
Sri Swami Vishwananda: Knowledge, the third eye.
These leaves are very special. Who knows the story of these leaves?
Why do we use these leaves? Don’t be shy. Can you tell? No?

Someone: There was a boy who was chased by a tiger and went up a tree…

Sri Swami Vishwananda: No…(Laughing) It is a story, but they were not chased by a tiger.
The story of these leaves actually comes from the Shivapurana and explain what is important for Shiva. Long time ago, there was a hunter.
He went in the forest to hunt, but he became late to reach back to his village.
So he decided to spend the night in the forest, but he can’t sleep down…
If you sleep down what will happen?

Someone: He get’s eaten.

Sri Swami Vishwananda: Wild animal will eat him.
So he went up on the tree and this tree was the Bilva tree.
And the whole night for him to keep him awake, he was picking the leaves from the tree and throwing them down, without knowing that down there was a Shiva Lingam.
He was missing his family so much, that he was crying even.
He was wondering “poor them, they don’t have food to eat”.
And he was crying and crying and the tears were falling together with the leaves on the Shiva Lingam.
Shiva was so pleased.
Even without knowing him, he was doing abishekam on that day.
And it was a Shivaratri day.
So Shiva was so pleased that he appeared in front of him and said “I grant you whatever boons you want.”
And He added, He said to commemorate this day: “Whoever will offer the Bilva leaves will have the blessing of Goddess Lakshmi, because the Bilva is Goddess Lakshmi Herself. So whoever offers these leaves with devotion, Maha Lakshmi will bless them."
So this is the greatness of the Bilva leaves.
Of course they have a lot of medical properties also, because in Ayurveda they use these leaves. If you just eat them like that, you can die, because they are very poisonous also.
But in little quantity they are very bitter and very good for Diabetes.
People who are diabatic boil them and drink it.

Bilvashtakam is the astakam stotram addressed to Lord Shiva.
Offering a Bilva leaf to Lord Shiva pleases him especially on the Shivarathri.
Chant the Bilvashtakam stotra on Sivaratri and get blessing from Lord Shiva.

If you really want something, make it happen!

Devotee 12: I was wondering what you have to say about the concept, that we can co-create our Universe.
By using the power of the mind or visualization, we can create anything…

Sri Swami Vishwananda: Yes, the belief has to be there.
This is the state of the mind also, how to better use the mind.
If you really want something, the belief in it will make it happen.
But the mind has to be focused and clear about it, because the mind is always jumping.
Today you want this; tomorrow you want that- then how it will be clear?
It will never be clear.
So, when somebody really wants something, everyday the mind is so much focused on that, that it makes it happen.
This is by learning to control the mind.
It’s true that you create your own universe.
You create your own world, your own reality, because this is the power of the mind.
The mind is very powerful.
Like scientists themselves said, also in the Vedas it is said: Human beings use only 5% of
their mind, 95% is still dormant.
Imagine you would use this 95% and the 5% would be dormant, but it’s sad- only a few people do that. (smiling)


Here i would like to share with you a wonderful link to an amazing movie. I haven't watched it yet, but my Dad gave me the book at the weekend and now i already finished reading it. The books called "Heal your life", just like the movie. It is about what Guruji is always preaching: If we change or thinking and become positive, our whole life will automatically change and become just how we want to have it. Manifestation of the Hiranyagarbha Lingam, part 1

Today we would like to share with you the first excerpt of Sri Swami Vishwananda's speech on the 30.11.2009. This special day was not only the day where Mahavtar Kriya Babaji decided to stay on this planet, but also Sri Swami Vishwananda manifested a golden Lingam. (Hiranyagarbha Lingam) [ The second part of his speech will follow tomorrow]

Sri Swami Vishwananda: Jai Gurudev! So nice that you all are here; firstly because it’s Babaji’s day, secondly you receive the blessing of the Hiranyagarbha Lingam. Actually, I already said about the Hiranyagarbha Lingam back in 2005, and well, Babaji wanted that the lingam come, and it came. Normally this lingam is not manifested just like that because it’s not a normal Lingam. The Hiranyagarbha Lingam, as it is said in the Vedas, is the primordial creation of God- you know actually, it is the Will itself. And even if it seems so small like this, it has the whole universe inside of it. What we are experiencing now, we are also experiencing inside of it; even if it seems outside, we are all inside of it.
So why did it manifest now? Probably you have noticed that the past two weeks the world itself is changing. Probably you have noticed or you have not noticed (laugh.) But there are some changes happening in the world, it has nothing to do with 2012, to make it clear- but which will reflect to a greater change later on. So, while travelling with Pritala last week, I was saying to him that I thought people are changing into better, but actually I realize the contrary. Out of the masses of people that are living in this world only a few are changing really for the best -let’s say for the better. So, actually bringing this Lingam into this consciousness, which is…low consciousness, probably will help to give a boost up in people’s advancement. It is not only you all which are here actually; it not only reflects on you all, because it reflects on the world itself. So, this Lingam has a lot of healing qualities, which means it doesn’t heal only the body, but it heals the soul itself. Of course, one would say, “Our soul? How can our soul be affected? Because our soul is pure and completely into the Divine.” It’s true - our soul is pure and completely into the Divine but around it, what suffocates the soul, is all the karmic things that one accumulated, not only in one life, but many lives.

Have Faith and don't doubt the power that you have inside

Sri Swami Vishwananda about the light and healing power within one Self:

Sri Swami Vishwananda: Whenever you read in any Holy books like the Bible and also the Bhagavad Gita, it is said that Lord Krishna or Lord Jesus went far away in a desert corner or on a high mountain to sit down and talk with God. However, each one of us can also go deep inside of ourselves and raise the vibration in our self, reach to the higher level, and open to the consciousness of God. Let the light flow through you; become the Self and realize it; and know that you are the Self, and that the Self is acting for you. And when the Self is acting for you, for sure everything will be perfect. There is no doubt of this with the power of trust you have in the mind.

Swami Vishwaparthananda (Jyotir) says: "Whenever a sick person comes to Swami Vishwananda for healing, he always tells them that he will pray for them. When a spontaneous healing occurs, he always points out that it is God's work. I have never heard him say that he healed anyone. According to Swami, there is no one who can call himself/herself a healer. I have heard him say of healers that they are only tools in the hands of the Divine." From around the world, Devotees of Sri Swami Vishwananda give testimony that numerous and varied healings have taken place in His presence.


Sri Swami Vishwananda continues:
When you have this power of trust, this willpower, then you can create in the mind what you really want! Imagine it. Make it a thought, and project this thought on whatever you want, and say by the power of word, “I want that!” See what happens! See what Jesus did when some people came and said, “This person is ill. Can you please heal him?” What did he answer? He didn’t say much. He just said, “Be healed!” The person did heal because in his consciousness, Jesus was always with the Divine, always with the Father. He didn’t have any doubt in his own word; he didn’t doubt himself. He didn’t say, “OK, let me heal.” With strong conviction, he said, “Be healed!” But it’s also true that the person has to have faith in Jesus.

The Mrityumbageshwar Shiva Lingam

Sri Swami Vishwananda speaks about a certain Shivalingam that one can see and venerate in His Temple Altar in Center Springen: This Shivalingam has been blessed by Mahavatar Babaji. Mahavatar has given it the name Mrityumbageshwar. The meaning is “the one who removes all suffering and inspires people to realize the Divine.” The lingam has been blessed with great healing energy. Whoever pours water over this Shivalingam while reciting eleven times the mrityumjaya mantra can be healed by drinking the water.

Myrityumjaya Mantra: Tryambakam yajamahe sugamdim pushtivardanamurvu rukiamiva bhandhanat mrityor mukshiya mamritat
This Shivalingam is very special because Mahavatar Babaji has blessed it with the same energy as the jyotirlingams in India. Shiva appeared and manifested eleven lingams in eleven places to leave those places sacred.

When you come here (temple at Springen) you may pour water over the Shivalingam and then keep it in a container and drink it if you are ill, and you will get cured. Have faith in it. When you place flowers on the Shivalingam, you receive the blessings of the Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and beauty. Wealth means not only material wealth but also spiritual wealth which is the most important of all. The worship of Lakshmi and the Shivalingam together is in accordance with the Shatras. Mahavatar Babaji has said the water from this lingam can even transmute death and give back life.

Whatever He does is right

The power of chanting the name of God, it's not only purifying the mind, it’s purifying the body and it's purifying the soul. When your mind is purified, you have a healthy mind. Your mind is positive. Eventually, your body will also be in a positive way. Your body will be healthy. How many times people who are ill surrender completely and say, “I’m fed up now. God, I’m praying to you and I surrender to you. Do whatever you want to do with me.” What happens then? The miracle happens. The miracle of faith. The miracle of love. The miracle of surrender.
But nowadays people are so scared of surrender. They say, “I will surrender, but... what will happen? I will surrender, but how will I live?” This insecurity is already present. How can they trust when there’s insecurity? Only when there is complete trust in God, complete trust in your self, when you ask God for Himself, will He give Himself to you. And trust what? Whatever He does is right, even if the mind doesn’t understand it, it is right.
