Sri Swami Vishwananda: This body will go back to earth and it will go back to the same five elements it used to be.
But if this is the reality, if the body is the only reality, then what is God?
Where is the Divinity?
This great energy that makes the body work, that makes the body act, is the Spirit and it’s who you really are.
If you were the body, would you still be alive even after death?
Whereas being the Spirit, you continuously live till you become completely one with the Divine.
Work for this reality. Work and love God.

Don't focus only on the body
Sri Swami Vishwananda: You think that you are just this body and very often you focus only on the body, so what happens? The more you focus on the body, the more you have pain and the more you are miserable, because the reality gets covered, becomes shadowed.
And when this reality gets covered, of course it brings pain.
Sri Swami Vishwananda recently published a wonderful book containing many of his precious speeches. To find out more click here: Just Love

Think of yourself as being the Spirit
Sri Swami Vishwananda: The more you think of yourself being human, like many people think, the more you become human.
But the more you think of yourself as being the Spirit, being part of Divinity, the more you will become the Spirit and Divinity.

If the Spirit leaves you, you loose everything

Sri Swami Vishwananda: When you analyze people, when you look at people walking around, you
see them walking, but yet they are not present in their body.
The elements are so much at war inside of them, that they are somewhere else.
And what keeps these elements in balance in ourselves is the Holy Spirit; the Spirit of God within oneself.
And how would you energize this Spirit?
If the Spirit leaves you, you fall dead, you loose everything.
Here when you are alive, you say, “This is mine, that is mine, it’s my possession.”
But imagine if the Spirit leaves you, what will happen?
What is yours?
What is mine?

Nothing stays.
This is a wonderful song by Cece Winans called "Holy spirit come fill this place".

Holy Spirit come and fill this place
bring us healing with your warm embrace
Show Your power make your presence known
Holy Spirit come fill this place
My heart is long
ing just to hear from youMy soul is waiting to know someone who
Can take us higher help us make it through
So will you please come and set us free
Breath of God we need a touch from you
shine down on us with the light of truth
Stir our hearts and set our spirit free
Holy spirit come fill this place
Our hearts are hungry for your perfect peace
Our souls are thirsty for the joy you bring
So send your glory makes your praise complete
Send down the rain, touch us once again

Have you changed?

Sri Swami Vishwananda was asking us an important question during the Satsang on the 23rd December. The question if we have really changed since we came on the spiritual path.
Sri Swami Vishwananda:
Christmas is back- have we changed? Every year we celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the nativity of the One, the Savior, who had been born to help humanity, the great Master, who had come to give an example to humanity. But let's ask ourselves: Have we changed? What has changed in our lives? One person will say “Yes I changed my life. I have become spiritual.” You know the word very much in the world outside. It’s good, but to be spiritual is not just a title. It’s not just a sticker that we put on ourselves “We are spiritual” or we show outside that we are very spiritual. But what has this done to you? To be spiritual?
What have you changed? Every year at this time, everybody tries to do good, no?
When Christmas is approaching, everybody wants to be good, preparing for the birth of Christ. But Christ is born every day in the heart of men. We have to see that. And we have to change ourselves. We should not expect others to change us, but we have to change ourselves. That’s what I always say: Self-discipline.

The sweetness of your sadhana
Sri Swami Vishwananda is talking about Sadhana:When the mind gets purified, the mind becomes positive. You will see how easy it is also in sadhana. But it doesn’t matter, even if you don’t succeed in one goal. I know people like a quick result in one month, when they start practising or they want it very fast. Know one thing: Fast you go in, fast you will go out also. It's like when you are cooking: If a Mataji would like to make syrup and if you just take the food and throw it in the syrup and then remove the fruits, will the sweetness go into the food? It will not. You have to let it cook inside. The same way is your sadhana. If you just go inside and go out of it, being impatient with yourself, it will be the same. It will not be sweet. The sweetness that you have inside of you is waiting to be awakened. It doesn’t matter which path you follow, which sadhana you are doing, but how you are doing is the most important.

Ganesha Chaturthi
Ganesha is known as the God, who removes obstacles on the spiritual path and He is also the patron of arts and sciences.
Here is a Story that Swami Vishwananda told about Shiva and Paravati:
Shiva is a Saddhu, a Fakir, a renouncant, who bothers about anything, because He is always in the Supreme Consciousness. Parvati wanted so much to have Shiva as husband, so she prayed. She did so much penance, so much tapasya that finally Shiva was pleased with her. Shiva said “Yes, okay. I shall marry you.” On the day they got married Parvati made a promise and said “Lord, you are my everything, I surrender myself completely to You. And I will always sit at Your feet. I will always sit by Your side and look at You. Whenever You will sit in meditation, I will be there, always.” So time passed. Up in the
ue. Save me.” She cried for days. You know it’s very easy to please Shiva. He was touched. He came to rescue Parvati to take her back to the Thursday, 16 July 2009
Being the Spirit

What happens when you think that we are just this body? The more you focus on the body, the more you have pain, more you are miserable. Why? Because reality gets covered. And when this reality gets covered it brings pain. This body will go back to earth and will become the same five elements it used to be. But, if the body is the only reality. What is God? Where is the Divinity?
This great energy that makes the body work, that makes the body act, this is the Spirit. This is who you really are. Whereas being the Spirit, you continuously live to become one, completely, with the Divine. Work for this reality. Work and love God. Whatever you do, focus your mind on doing it for God, every action, every thought. Love God in everybody and everything around you. And when you love, love one hundred percent. Try not to doubt this love because when you doubt it, just a little bit of doubt stops your advancement.

Ways to realize divinity

There are many ways to realize divinity within oneself, like there are many rivers that flow to the same ocean. The main thing is to find the simplest form. The simplier it is, the more you feel free in whatever path, in whatever way you are. That is the best way. I can’t tell you the way you will realize God and that way you will not realize God. God is sitting deep inside the heart of man and you just need to focus your mind on your heart. Try your best at all times to feel Him.
The best way is to start loving, without thinking of loving, without asking the question, “How to love?” Train your mind to focus on God. Train your mind to focus on yourself. By focussing, take any divine name, take any divine aspect. Keep chanting the name. Then you realize that you have become one with this name. It’s not the name apart from you, but it’s the name of your own Self.
The more you think of yourself being human, which many people often think about, the more they become human. But the more you think of yourself being the Spirit, being part of Divinity, the more you will become the Spirit and Divinity.
