About this Blog

This Blog is a collection of excerpts from talks given by Sri Swami Vishwananda. Please note that this Blog does not focus on dates, background and the exact original way of how Swamiji delivered the speech. We edit the talks slightly, presenting them in a kind of “poetic” format. This means we choose certain paragraphs from a talk which reflect a particular theme.
Read them as pieces of Divine Wisdom, meditate upon the words and just feel how Swamiji is addressing you with His words.

Swami Vishwananda talks about Obedience

Sri Swami Vishwananda says "The saints say that obedience is to crush one’s pride and ego. As long as one doesn’t have obedience, one will fantasise lots of things in the mind and the fantasies of the mind like to put one very high, even if it is not so, these fantasies like to make someone seem much grander, but the more one thinks of oneself as being grand, being more than others, the more one is going away from the reality, going away from the path, going away from the true identity, because your true identity is humility. God manifests Himself to teach humility."
