About this Blog

This Blog is a collection of excerpts from talks given by Sri Swami Vishwananda. Please note that this Blog does not focus on dates, background and the exact original way of how Swamiji delivered the speech. We edit the talks slightly, presenting them in a kind of “poetic” format. This means we choose certain paragraphs from a talk which reflect a particular theme.
Read them as pieces of Divine Wisdom, meditate upon the words and just feel how Swamiji is addressing you with His words.

Swami Vishwananda & Yearning for God

Sri Swami Vishwananda says "What is the difference between wanting and yearning? (someone answers: Yearning is burning desire and wanting is from the mind.) That's it! Whenever I hear people saying “I want God!” Want is not enough! You have to yearn for Him! You have to burn with this desire of attaining Him! Only then you will attain Him.

And by attaining Him means that everything in life will be taken care of. You'll have the pleasures of life. You'll do your duty properly. You'll have all the fulfilment, all the merits and you'll have Moksha at the end. But the most important it is to attain the Lotus Feet of the Lord, just by carrying out the word of the Master."
